BREECH DOLL

In the vibrant tapestry of underground music that emerged from the mid-90s, Breech Doll stands out as a project that seamlessly blended the raw energy of punk rock, the rebellious spirit of hardcore, and the innovative sounds of industrial and experimental music. Originating from a deep-rooted passion for music and artistic creation, Breech Doll was the brainchild of Patrick McCormick and Arin Bennet, whose shared vision brought to life a sound that was both unique and ahead of its time.

The inception of Breech Doll was marked by the pioneering use of early wave editing software and MOD Trackers, tools that allowed for the manipulation of sound in ways that were revolutionary for the era. This digital experimentation laid the groundwork for what would become the signature sound of Breech Doll: a fusion of instrumental prowess and electronic innovation. The project’s most notable release, “Population of Loss,” encapsulates this blend, featuring instrumental compositions enriched with effect-driven vocals and a DIY ethos that harked back to the duo’s punk roots.

As McCormick’s sonic explorations evolved, so did his projects, leading to the creation of Cage Clinic and Another Earthly Dimension, each project marking a step forward in his musical journey. Cage Clinic delved into even more experimental territory, eschewing traditional rhythm sections for haunting soundscapes created from everyday sounds. Another Earthly Dimension expanded on this foundation, incorporating a wider range of vocals and inviting collaboration from a revolving cast of musicians, further enriching the project’s sonic depth.

McCormick and Bennett are once again collaborating of future Breech Doll releases.
