AGGRESSIVE ATTACK

Aggressive Attack marked a pivotal evolution in Patrick McCormick’s musical career when it was formed in 2009. This project signified a shift towards EBM (Electronic Body Music) industrial, diverging from the industrial metal sound that had characterized McCormick’s previous work with Media Violence. Aggressive Attack emerged at a time when McCormick was concurrently working on “The Great Collapse,” the last album before Media Violence entered a prolonged hiatus. This timing reflects a period of intense creativity and transition for McCormick, as he explored new sonic territories and expressions within the industrial music genre.

The inaugural EP, “Full Frontal Assault,” showcased Aggressive Attack’s distinct sound, characterized by heavier and more danceable rhythms compared to the works of Media Violence. McCormick’s vocal delivery underwent a transformation as well, adopting a growling alter ego that contrasted sharply with the high-pitched, snarling screams associated with Media Violence. This new vocal style, coupled with the project’s EBM-influenced sound, set Aggressive Attack apart, marking a new chapter in McCormick’s exploration of industrial music. The project’s first full-length album, “A Burning Reality,” released in 2012, further established Aggressive Attack’s identity within the industrial music scene. Currently, McCormick is back in the studio, signaling the ongoing evolution of Aggressive Attack and hinting at future releases that continue to push the boundaries of the genre.
